Metallogenic Prediction of Magnetite in the Pandian Area at the Northwest Margin of Luxi Uplift, China: Constraints of Wide-Field Electromagnetic Data

The Pandian deposit is a newly discovered contact metasomatic skarn magnetite found in the Cainozoic super-thick overburden on northwest margin of Luxi Uplift (LXU). Presently, horizontal scale delineated by potential field (gravity and magnetic method) has shown giant for ore deposits, mapping ore-controlling structures vertical becomes primary task metallogenic prediction. In our study, wide-field electromagnetic method (WFEM), with strong anti-noise ability recording signals surface at multiple frequencies, applied to characterize deep conductivity distribution area. Based inversion results from two parallel WFEM profiles, which consist 105 sites previous geological geophysical results, 2D geoelectric models are established. low-resistivity regions (with typical range 25~32 Ω·m) electrical proven be bodies deposit, developed along zone between Yanshanian intrusive rocks Paleozoic Ordovician strata. scattered (typically >32 limestone strata probably caused diorite pluton closely related mineralization. Due metasomatism, bedded near was metamorphosed into marble accompanied alteration, resistivity much different its high-resistivity protolith. inverted geoelectrical visually reflect spatial features lithologic alteration/fracture zones.
